summary: a poem i wrote for my friend mono eight years ago. i still think it's one of my best poems. also, the line "hear the madness growing in [her] soul" is quoting ginsberg if you couldn't tell.

Her eyes are fallen flowers Far removed, alone in ivory towers Her windowed soul is dripping off her eyelashes Her emptying goodness hidden as her smile flashes I can hear the madness growing in her soul Eating up her joy like a black hole She smokes and drinks too much But the drinking I cant begrudge Each beer gives her half her joy again But steals her sanity time and time again It kills me to see her slowly fade away When all I can do is watch and cry at her fastening decay.
